Definition of Pathos - "An appeal to the emotions of the audience."
Ex. of Pathos - Animal Shelter commercials show sad dogs and cats, people taking care of them, and play 'In the Arms of An Angel' by Sarah McLachlan, all while some lady is talking over it softly yet desperately to get you to donate to the shelter.
