a line that is parallel to another has exactly the same slope as the other.

so a parallel line to that line above, will have the same slope hmmm what is the slope of y=3/4x+2 anyway?

well, notice, since it's already in slope-intercept form
[tex]\bf y=\stackrel{slope}{\cfrac{3}{4}}x~~\stackrel{y-intercept}{+2}[/tex]
