The natchez believed that male children of the upper class should marry one class below them.

The Natchez people are North American Indian tribe that lived in present-day Mississippi. The traditional religion honored the sun. The tribes’ social organization was in caste. The system classified the people as suns, nobles, honored and commoners. It was mandatory for sun individuals to marry commoners.
