For finding the mean number of working TV sets, we need to divide the total number of TV sets by the total frequency.

Now for finding the total number of TV sets, first we will multiply each number of TV sets by it's frequency and then sum up all the results.

So, the total number of TV sets

[tex]=(0*1)+(1*8)+(2*9)+(3*4)+(4*3) \\\\  =0+8+18+12+12=50[/tex]

and total frequency [tex]=1+8+9+4+3= 25[/tex]

Thus, the mean number of working TV sets [tex]= \frac{50}{25}=2[/tex]
