base area = 600 ft²

The volume ( V) of a pyramid is calculated using the formula

V = [tex]\frac{1}{3}[/tex] Ah ( A is the area of base and h the height )

1000 = [tex]\frac{5}{3}[/tex]A ( substituting given values )

multiply both sides by 3 and divide by 5

A = [tex]\frac{3000}{5}[/tex] = 600 ft²
