area of base = 5 ft²

the volume (V) of a cone is calculated using the formula

V = [tex]\frac{1}{3}[/tex]Ah ( A is the area of base and h the height )

substitute given values into the formula

35 = 7A ( divide both sides by 7 )

A = [tex]\frac{35}{7}[/tex] = 5 ft²
