Answer:

American colonists' opinions of the king of England varied from region to region. Throughout most of the colonies, colonists viewed King George III and his economic control over American trade negatively. There were many regions and pockets, however, throughout the colonies that never spoke out against the king's policies. They would have described the king favorably and were referred to as Tories.
