Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (length) + 2 (width)

Width: x

Length: x + 12

Perimeter: 100

Solution:

100 = 2(x + 12) + 2 (x)

100 = 2x + 24 + 2x

4x = 100 - 24

4x/4 = 76/4

x = 19

Dimensions:

Width: x = 19 cm

Length: 19 + 12 = 31 cm

Area = (length) (width)

Area = (31 cm) (19 cm)

Area = 589 cm²

ANSWER:  The area of the rectangle is 589 cm².
