Absolute dating method, or also known as the numerical dating, is the method of determining the specific date or range date for an artifact in number of years; whereas, relative dating method is the technique used to arrange the geological events in a sequence. Relative dating method does not give the specific dates. And these two methods are very important when determining the age and characteristic of a certain fossil.
