Note: Consider the equation is [tex]y=kx[/tex] instead of [tex]y=kk[/tex].

Given:

The graph of [tex]y=kx[/tex] goes through A(4,-80).

To find:

The value of k.

Solution:

We have,

[tex]y=kx[/tex]

It is passes through the point A(4,-80). It means, the point satisfy the equation.

Putting x=4 and y=-80, we get

[tex](-80)=k(4)[/tex]

Divide both sides by 4.

[tex]\dfrac{-80}{4}=k[/tex]

[tex]-20=k[/tex]

Therefore, the value of k is -20.
