How does water move from leaves to root? ​

First, the water from the leaves is transported to the roots until it reaches the xylem. Second, cohesion and adhesion results the molecules of the water to form a column into the xylem. Lastly, the water will be transported from the xylem into the mesophyll cells, and then evaporates from the surfaces which leaves by the process of diffusion through the stomata.
