-q = 3 ( multiply both sides by - 1 )

q = - 3

Substitute q = - 3 into either of the 2 equations and solve for p

Substituting into (1)

2p + 3(- 3) = - 7

2p - 9 = - 7 ( add 9 to both sides )

2p = 2 ( divide both sides by 2 )

p = 1
