A string of length 160cm is cut into 2 pieces, in the ratio 3:5. Find the length of each piece​

Answer: One piece is 60 cm and the other is 100cm

Lets think, "x" as the length of each piece.

3 + 5 is 8. So,

x/160 = 3/8

x= 3/8*160

x= 60

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

x/160 = 5/8

x= 5/8 * 160

x= 100
