The main goal of developing bamboo as a commodity in Eastern Asia is providing a cash-based income for local citizens. As you already know, bamboo grows mainly in Eastern Asia, so obviously people living there would want to take advantage of their greatest commodity. By doing so, the governments of Eastern Asian countries will provide their own people with means to get an income and support their families.
