Help. How to get the lateral area of a rectangular prism? Plz explain

The entire surface area of a rectangular prism is 2 × Length × Breadth + 2 × Width × Height + 2 × Length × Height. So I think the sides would just be like a rectangle and be length × breadth but I don't really know because my teacher only gave me that formula. Hope this helps in some way :)
